Well, anyway, like I was saying before I rudely interrupted myself, I got to thinking about fire hydrants and then it hit me. We talk goofy.
I’m not sure who decided to make it so tough, but it’s confusing. I mean think about that fire hydrant again, if you’re not already. My gramma always tells me to make sure I “hydrate”, especially on hot days, so I don’t hurt myself. But does hydrating a fire help the fire? I thought it hurt the fire. And on hot days, too!
Then I thought- what about that whole thing about “feed a cold and starve a fever”, or is it “starve a cold and feed a fever”? I can never figure out which one I’m supposed to do. And anyway, I have no idea where to find the cold or the fever to bring ‘em breakfast or shoo it away. And what DO they eat, anyway? Who makes up this stuff?
So if that’s not enough I heard one the other day, let’s see... what was that? Oh yeah, the apple thing. I heard my gramma tell a guy; “an apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Now how does THAT work? Does it have some kind of special powers? Maybe it’s like the apple in Snow White and you don’t NEED a doc after eating it (y'know what I mean?). But then you wouldn’t be able to eat one every day either if it was like that one. Maybe if you eat an apple it gives you bad breath and that keeps the doc away. If that’s it I can think of a lot better things to eat, like fudgcicles. Maybe if you throw the apple at the doc he would run away? That might work.
See what I mean...it IS goofy.
